August 21, 1955 was not a typical day for the Hopkinsville police station. That evening, a family of five adults and seven children suddenly burst into the station claiming they’d spent the last six hours defending their farmhouse from little green aliens. Whaaaaat?
Don’t worry, though. When you’re in Hopkinsville the only defense you’ll need from aliens is stopping them from feeding you so many damn pancakes! It IS the Batter Capital of the World, after all.
This fun time eventually became known as The Kelly Incident and has captured folks’ imaginations for decades, even inspiring Steven Spielberg in the creation of E.T.
